Pre-Conference Master Classes - April 25, 2010

Choose any ONE of the Following High-Imapact Master classes by Experts

The technological phenomenon of virtualisation is transforming data processing, storage & network asset productivity, delivering sharply reduced operating costs and greater flexibility & agility in the management of infrastructural services. This evolution in technology is having revolutionary impacts on IT Services businesses and on the practice of outsourcing. This transformation scopes the terms ‘the Cloud’ and ‘Cloud Computing’.

The commercial consequences of ‘the Cloud’ were first felt in the consumer & web services market places. Google’s ‘search’ & Amazon’s e-commerce models pioneered the automation of business processes to be delivered as (consumer) services over the Internet. A diversity of companies, established and new, are now developing this business model of automated (business) services delivered over the Internet for Enterprise & Government clients.

Outsourcing is the the act of transferring some of an organization’s recurring internal activities and decision rights to an outside provider as set forth in a contract and has a clear evolutionary path, and a specific process. Many outsourcing initiatives occur with inadequate forethought and planning, and the organizations run into massive problems, suffer from slow organizational learning and frequently work in a reactive mode.

Understanding the full outsourcing lifecycle and each of its phases will assist the organizations embarking on outsourcing, as well as managers who need to determine their roles and responsibilities in the context of the specific outsourced programs. Use this framework to help confirm that all segments and phases have been addressed, or identify any gaps or missing segments that need to be included in the planning of your next outsourced program.

Time: 08:00 AM - 03:30 PM

Presenter:
Bill Thomas, Executive Director, Equaterra, UK

Lee Ayling, Managing Director of IT Advisory Services, Equaterra, UK
